What is the price of biofuel?

Clean Green Energy offers our advanced biofuel at the same price that other leading heating fuel companies offer regular heating oil. Savings result from greatly increased fuel efficiency, reduced maintenance costs and extended life of heating system components

What are the benefits of biofuel?

Biofuel provides the same warmth and convenience of regular oil heat. However, biofuel has cleaning and lubricating properties that will improve the operation of your furnace, resulting in reduced fuel usage and improved emissions.

Do I need to change my furnace or buy new equipment?

No. Biofuel is designed to be used in existing residential and commercial heating equipment. The cleaning effect of biofuel can flush contaminants from the fuel tank or fuel lines into the fuel filter. After the transition to biofuel, Clean Green Energy can check your system and replace the filters if necessary.

Is Clean Green Biofuel safe?

Yes, our 100% biofuel is 10 times less toxic than table salt. If spilled, this biofuel degrades as fast as sugar, being decomposed by bacteria in the environment. Our biofuels are made from plant oils, which are very safe to handle. Many people use biofuels in marine environments to protect the wildlife. Our biofuels are so safe that government regulatory agencies don’t even consider our fuel a hazardous material.

Will it cause problems with my heating system?

Biofuel burns much cleaner than traditional heating oil. This helps reduce the frequency of normal service and repair your heating system will typically require.

Why doesn’t everyone already use Clean Green Biofuel?

Well, 60% of the fuel used in Europe is biofuel. We use biofuel extensively in other parts of our country; even in southern Maine and New Hampshire. We here in central Maine have not used it much yet because the fuel was not available in sufficient supply. Now the fuel is available through Clean Green Energy.

Where does Clean Green biofuel come from?

We at Clean Green value buying local for your local use. Clean Green fuels are purchased from Maine suppliers whenever possible. We have suppliers in other New England states when supplies are low, just to be safe. Clean Green biofuels reduces U.S. dependence on foreign energy sources. Foreign imports of petroleum send dollars out of our economy. Clean Green biofuels offer the potential to shift this spending from foreign imports to domestically produced energy.

Is Clean Green Biofuel renewable?

Yes, Clean Green Biofuel is made from combining plant oils with alcohol to form biofuel and glycol, which is used in soaps and cosmetics.

How does a gas boiler or furnace compare to a Clean Green Biofuel boiler or furnace?

Biofuels have more energy per volume of fuel than gas. This means more heat and energy per unit for your money. Biofuels are safer than natural gas or dirty heating oil for your home and the environment. With Clean Green biofuel, your house does not have the same potential to explode either. Insurance companies may even offer discounts for biofuel use eventually. The temperature at which biofuels burn (flash point) is so high that regulatory agencies don’t even consider the fuel to be a hazardous material. The biofuel equipment lifespan is often twice that of gas, and the installation is typically cheaper also. Gas prices are predicted to increase substantially, but biofuels are decreasing in cost over time. Is there any question why we prefer biofuels?

Clean Green Biofuel burns cleaner than natural gas?

Yes! If we blend just 13% biofuel into petroleum diesel for heating or transportation use, it has a cleaner burn signature than natural gas. If it is that clean at 13%, then just imagine how clean 100% biofuel is. Biodiesel reduces net lifecycle carbon dioxide emissions by 78% compared to petroleum diesel and is carbon neutral as a fuel. Emissions of particulate in exhaust drops 68%, carbon monoxide drops by 46% and sulfur oxides are completely eliminated.
